I am so way behind on monthly posts for our sweet little Jackson Grady. Summer time is unbelievably busy for our family, but I wish I would have MADE time to post these updates in a more timely manner. We are really at 11 months and 1 week- BUT I am just now posting the 10 month milestone update. I am going to do my very best to remember when and what happened.
June 16-July 16, 2017—
Jackson went on his first mission trip (outside of the womb!) 🙂 We went with the youth group and chaperones to a children’s home in Morrilton, Arkansas for a week. 38 total people. 2 vans, one trailer, and 2 additional vehicles. Jackson and I rode in one of the vans that Jordan was driving, along with about 10 middle school aged girls and 2 high school boys. Once we got home, after a long week, Jackson seemed to have learned a new, high pitched, loud squeal. I blame the middle school girls…. Jackson did wonderfully on the trip; the travel days weren’t bad and he did a great job adjusting while we were there. He is such a trooper and just goes along with whatever we are doing. He is the most easy going baby, (or person!), I think I have ever known!
We discovered this month that Jackson likely suffers from seasonal allergies…just like Daddy! We made two doctor visits due to congestion, cough, sneezing, etc that just wouldn’t clear up. After a week or so of benadryl and claritin, he seemed to improve. I am hoping he doesn’t have a terrible time with allergies often.
Big boy also got 2 teeth in this month! Two teeth on the bottom center- in the same week! He weighed almost 21 lbs and was 26 inches long. He LOVES to eat. Gets supper excited and sometimes impatient when he sees his bottle coming. He does great with pureed foods- especially pouches- and is improving in more textured, regular table foods. Momma is still a little apprehensive to give him much since he doesn’t have many teeth.
This month we tried (in addition to pureed baby foods) blueberry muffin, scrambled egg, refried beans, steamed broccoli, steamed carrots. He disliked the steamed veggies but did ok with the others!
