Jackson Grady {eight months}

Unbelievably so, Jackson Grady is now a little over eight months old! Only 1/4 of a year left until his first birthday!! Not sure how that’s possible!

We haven’t been to the doctor since the 6 month check up, but I weighed him on our shipping scale at work and he came in at 20.5 lb! Pretty sure he is still short, though, judging by the length of the shorts we put on him. I (and Mimi) have bought him a *few* outfits for summer time, especially with Peach Valley camp in mind, but I am not sure that those 12 month clothes are going to fit him in July since he is wearing them now!

Since removing the sleep sack a couple of weeks ago, his sleep has improved! I am still longing for some more full nights, but one wake up is not bad πŸ™‚ I do hope, though, that he will be consistently sleeping through the night before the new baby comes in October!

Jackson is still the happiest, most easy going baby. He is such an absolute joy to be around. He likes the company of others, so this month (new) he has started ‘requiring’ more attention during play time. Which is fun and fine, but sometimes he has to fuss a bit if we have things we have to get done. Rest assured though, many things have taken a back seat to Jackson- our house is not as clean as it used to be, blog posts are a month + late, laundry piles up, etc…but we know, this stage, too, soon will pass and before we know it, he won’t want us around!

Still quite the eater. He takes 6 ounces every 3 hours during the day…we do an 8 oz bottle right before bed, a 4 ounce bottle during the night. He eats pureed foods 2-3 times a day (mostly 2). Since finding out about the pregnancy, he has been on formula. The dr had me wean him immediately (mostly due to the high risk nature of the pregnancy). He did perfectly fine with process- in fact, I think it was harder for Momma than for him! He does great with the bottle and learned to hold it by himself rather quickly. But, let me tell you- formula is expensive!! We were not prepared for that addition to our monthly budget! He really likes the sweet potato flavored puffs, but does not love the banana flavored ones. He can pick one up but he just holds it, and doesn’t put it in his mouth! He does great drinking water out of a straw cup or a sippy cup. We go for the straw cup when possible!

Jackson is right on the verge of movement! We thought that he may walk before crawling, but just the last couple of days, he looks like his crawling attempt is improving! So, who knows! However, we are getting ready to baby proof the house!

Bath time is still a favorite! AND, he has finally started letting Momma put him to sleep again πŸ™‚
