Day 14, MPP

Day 14. We made it back to Texas today. It doesn’t really seem like we have been gone for two weeks. I fully expected to be at the end of my rope, worn out, dreading another night in a hotel, way past ready to be home. But, it really isn’t bad at all. We are comfortably in our hotel, the kids are asleep, the drive wasn’t bad today, and we plan to be home tomorrow evening.

We got up in Alamosa, CO this morning and worshipped with the San Luis Valley Church of Christ. A friendly little congregation in Alamosa, CO. We had lunch with Yaya and Pa and then went our separate ways. It’s always hard to say goodbye, especially with the kids. It’s weird this time because when they move home from CO next month, we will no longer be living in the same area. Instead of a 40 minute drive to see the grandkids, it will be a 2 hour and 40 min drive. We are also staying in their Texas house right now since we are in between houses and jobs. The kids get so confused when Pa and Yay aren’t at their house!

We have loved being on this trip and having the time together, but we are ready to get to our new place and get settled and into a more regular day to day routine.

After lunch in Alamosa, we hit the road to start our 5+ hour day of travel. The kids did great. Emmy fought her nap for a while but finally crashed and slept almost until we got to the hotel. They are both tired!

We are a little south of Amarillo and will stop by Palo Duro Canyon on our way home tomorrow. It’s been a great trip, with great memories, and great experiences. We are so thankful for this opportunity we had to travel together and to see more of God’s beautiful creation. We are thankful for the safe travel we have had and pray for safe travel as we finish up the last seven hours tomorrow! Thanks for following along!
